100% Mulberry Silk - Wolpertinger 3 ply - Chunky Weight - ~80m/100g hank - Fairy Wren

I was inspired by the Splendid Fairy Wren for this color scheme. They are adorable little birds with incredible coloring. I created this glorious color combination using silvery grey, turquoise, blue, and purple, hand-dyed on our chunky, 3-ply, 100% spun mulberry silk Wolpertinger yarn. The colors are rich, vibrant, and metallic-looking. This yarn would be perfect for bulky knits such as sweaters, scarves, shawls, mittens, hats, and blankets.

We name all our silk yarn bases after jackalopes from around the world. The Wolpertinger hails from Bavaria and is probably the fiercest-looking jackalope around! They are the royalty of jackalopes, sporting the pheasant wings, antlers (of course), and fangs! Don't let their fierce demeanor fool you, Wolpertingers are noble beasts when treated with the deference they deserve (woe to those who take them for granted, though!). The best way to meet a Wolpertinger is to have a drink (or several) of Bavarian beer, sitting on the slope of your favorite Alpine meadow. Don't forget to offer them a drink, too.
