100% Reeled Mulberry Silk - Lace Weight - Turning

This glorious yarn is 100% reeled silk, hand-dyed in the colors of Autumn - pumpkin orange, maple purple and burgundy, and emerald green. Reeled silk is the highest form of silk fiber, pulled in a single strand from the silk cocoon and twisted into yarn with amazing shininess and vibrancy. This yarn was inspired by the fall color of turning leaves in the Appalachian Mountains. This yarn is warm, incredibly soft, and richly colored.

We name all our silk yarn bases after jackalopes from around the world. A pooka isn't a jackalope, per se, but as the movie "Harvey" proved, they are certainly magical! "P O O K A - Pooka - from old Celtic mythology - a fairy spirit in animal form - always very large. The pooka appears here and there - now and then - to this one and that one - a benign but mischievous creature - very fond of rum pots, crackpots, and how are you, Mr. Wilson? Who in the encyclopedia wants to know?!

This line of our yarn are all special creations. Each lot is different and unique, just like their namesake Pookas.
