Haribou

Haribous are a strange breed of northern Jackalopes.  Larger and more gregarious than other jackalope species, Haribous resemble arctic hares with caribou antlers and gather in herds.  Their favorite food is the Amanita muscaria mushrooms that grow under spruce populating the northern slopes of the mountains.  These mushrooms give the Haribou their ability to fly.

Unlike other jackalopes, only the females of the species have antlers.  The legend of Santa's flying reindeer was born of these creatures.  The Sami peoples hitched their sleds to the highest hopping Haribou as part of their winter games.

Our Haribou is created by combining cotton and linen to form a yarn that grows softer with each wash.  Each 100g skein measures approximately 250m.  This yarn is perfect for spring and summer tops, shawls, and mushroom bags.

All our yarns are hand-dyed in small batches.  Catch all the Haribou colors in our Etsy Shop before they hop away!
